Start the day with a visit to a hidden, ancient underground cellar full of stories just 20 minutes away from Barcelona. Learn about local type of grapes and get a private tasting with the friendly winery owner.
Then, we’ll go to a nearby winery where you’ll visit picturesque vineyards overlooking the Mediterranean sea. This winery, although small and family run, is internationally recognized as one of the best of the whole region! A tasting of their finest organic and natural wines will follow the visit.
Finally, your guide will take you to a beautiful countryside slow food restaurant serving some of the highest quality food of the area. 9:30am Start of the Semi Private Wine Tour Barcelona
10:30am Visit of the undergound cellar and first tasting
Get ready to meet with the friendly owner of a winery for the tour of the hidden underground cellar. Prepare to learn about cava production as well as to hear special stories about the cellar, used during the civil war as a refuge. After the visit, you’ll get a private wine tasting of organic wine and cava, usually depicting the peculiarities of local grapes (Pansa Blanca).
The winery owner will be your sommelier, prepare for both an educational and fun time together!
12:30pm Second winery visit
Time to go to a beautiful family run winery with vineyards overlooking the Mediterranean sea. There, you’ll get a 360º visit of the winery. First you’ll walk around the vineyards and enjoy the most beautiful and relaxing views of both the sea and Barcelona. Then, you’ll learn about the history of the family behind this young yet successful project of organic winemaking as well as their new project of natural wine making. You’ll also visit the cellar, learn more about local wine and cava production. And of course, finally, you’ll taste 3 of their wines (usually a red, a white and a cava) while still enjoying the postcard seaviews.
2:00pm 3 course lunch at a slow food restaurant
4:30pm Time to return to Barcelona
5pm End of the Semi Private Wine Tour Barcelona
Both wineries offer local wines, most of them being made from local grapes. The food served at the restaurant is certified by the slow food association as being produced locally and responsibly. The dishes are made following tradtional Catalan recipes.
Most of the food will be organic. All the wines are organic.
Both the wineries and the restaurant have strict policies of recycling. All the plastic, glass and paper waste produced is recycled. The waste generated for this Barcelona Wine Tour is close to zero.
