Come discover Barcelona’s fishermen harbour, usually closed to the public. Your guide Cristina, coming from a long line of fishermen will take you around the fishermen’s guild. During the visit, you’ll catch the first fishing boats coming back from the sea and will be able to see the fresh fish and seafood they brought back. Finally, you’ll assist to the “fishmonger’s only”, reversed-auction fish market and learn about the distribution of fresh fish in Barcelona.

1

4pm Meeting at the harbour

We’ll meet at the entrance of the harbour of the Barceloneta (exact address of meeting point released upon booking). From there, I’ll take you inside the port and we’ll start the experience!
2

4:15pm Walking along the port

First we’ll walk along the port, meet local fishermen- some will even show us their boat, and we’ll learn about fishing techniques and anecdotes. On the boats, we’ll be able to see whether the day was good for our friends, and which types of fish and seafood they have brought back.
3

5pm Fish market

After most fishing boats have returned from the sea, the unique inversed auction fish market will start. I’ll take you to the first row of this “fishmonger’s only” market and explain you how everything works.
4

5:30pm Relax and chat

After the informative and educational tour, it will be time to drink a nice local, organic Cava (the Catalan champagne) together to complete the experience. I’ll take you to my family’s small fisherman house, on the docks, where we can relax a bit and exchange a bit more about the tour.
