DESCRIPTION
Looking for a New Year’s Eve Dinner in Barcelona? Join Guillermo and Cristina, the couple behind Barcelona Slow Travel, for a unique New Year’s Eve cooking and fine dining experience filled with amazing food, premium wines, laughter, and local traditions.
The evening will start with a tasting of local appetizers (cheese tasting, cured meats, olive oil, fleur de sel and much more) paired with organic cava from our favorite small producer located right outside Barcelona. Then, we’ll start a fully hands-on cooking class, where you’ll prepare 5 premium tapas dishes as well as a unique “end of year” dessert. Using traditional family recipes and local, seasonal and organic ingredients, you’ll discover the real Barcelona cuisine, as well as a range of cooking tips.
The cooking time will be of approximately 2,5 hours, and then another hour will be dedicated for dinner. Just like a Barcelona family, we’ll sit at the table and eat together while exchanging stories and laughter. Since we also specialize in offering private wine tours in Barcelona, we’ll bring our best selection of premium, small-batch regional wines from our network of boutique wineries.
Finally, we’ll get ready to enter into 2020 together. Just like the Spanish tradition wants it, we’ll eat our 12 traditional grapes at midnight as the bell chimes (one for each of the 12 chimes) which will bring us a lucky and prosperous new year!
Eating grapes is followed by exchanging kisses (on the cheek, please!) and cheering with the finest cava (Catalan sparkling wine). There will be plenty of surprises during the evening, and we do not really know when it will end, as we’ll invite you to go for drinks with us after midnight.
This event is unique in town, it’s a lot of fun and we are really looking forward to meeting you there. As you can imagine, the spots are limited and we highly recommend to book well in advance!

Tour Reviews
What a way to ring in 2018!
I attended the New Year’s Eve event, and it was a night to remember! Guillermo and Cristina were incredible hosts. As someone who is interested in food supply chains and loves good food, but is an admittedly terrible cook, I felt like I had just enough information/tasks to feel like I helped create what turned out to be a great meal, without feeling overwhelmed. They shared Spanish new years traditions with us, and a few of us continued to hang out until the early morning hours. From the sound of it, they do a lot of different kinds of tours and experiences, and I’d try them all if I had more time!
A must try! Highly highly recommended.
This was one of the best experiences I have had in Barcelona. The food was nothing short of fantastic. The ingredients were locally sourced, of high quality, home made mixes that had us all having a true culinary experience. Absolutely tasty. Guillermo and Cristina were so charming and completely compliment each other. They made all the guest feel very much at home. The perfect hosts. I am glad I spent NYE in such good company. Highly recommend this!
Incredible and beyond!
Words can not describe our amazing experience. We met wonderful people from around the world and our hosts were so welcoming. The food was so fresh and we had so much fun preparing. We also learned all about the customs and traditions to cherish for a lifetime.
